As we continue our exploration of Iqaluit, Nunavut, we were SHOCKED, to see how expensive groceries are. Ask you child how much a 24 case of Nestle water bottles costs, it's outrageous! We discussed that the solution to these soaring prices is to live off the land and hunt for our food, like they did in the early days! No more Chips Ahoy and Ketchup!
Student Led Conferences for 2C will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2010, from 3:30 - 7 pm. Please pop in to our Open House to share in your child's learning. If you would like to schedule an interview, because I will be absent that evening, please send me an email and we can make alternate arrangements.

We have now completed our non-fiction research projects on Polar Bears. Students are excited to share their finished products at Student Led Conferences, next week.
Today we launched our Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs (CWACOMB) unit!! Students named their communities and began writing bold beginnings. The focus of this unit is adding juicy details and editing (self and peer).
In our exploration of Inuit Traditions, we learned that Maktaaq (whale skin) is a treat enjoyed by the Inuit! It is said to taste like coconut.
Mrs. Raugust is asking for volunteers for the Book Fair (March 13 - 15). If you are available, please contact her at cheryl.raugust@gshare.blackgold.ca
| A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Myers for the book donation to 2C! We can't wait to read it! |
