Spelling Test Tomorrow!

We began our second Daily 5 activity, Read to Someone, today.  Students learned how to hunt for a buddy, sit E-E-K-K and use thumbs as bookmarks.  Why do we use the Read to Someone strategy in our classroom?  Daily 5 website says, "Of all the choices children participate in, Read to Someone is often their favorite.  Reading with someone helps readers, especially developing readers, increase areas of comprehension, accuracy, fluency and prosidy.  It also increases reading involvement, attention and collaboration. Library Tomorrow!

In Social Studies, we looked at Trip Advisor to see what choices we had for accommodations. We decided to stay at the Anchor Inn & Breakfast, it has free wifi, breakfast is included and it's beach front property! 

Using rods and cubes, we built numbers to 100 on a Tens/Ones chart.

In Writing, we completed another web to help plan our writing! The discussion today was incredible. We ALL learned so much...I've never even heard of brumation!

Grade 2 were excited to unveil their class t-shirts at today's assembly! What a great looking bunch!

A HUGE thank you to Ms. Coleman for working with 2C on their art projec for the Parent Council Christmas Card fundraiser, they turned out amazingly. Orders are due on Friday, November 10th. For more information, check out this LINK.
